The First Annual BelovED Community Charter School Color Run was held on Saturday, April 21st, 2018 at Lincoln Park in Jersey City and was a HUGE success!
Scholars registered online at www.schoolathon.org and set up their own individual fundraising pages. Upon registration, scholars received a Color Run pack, sneaker keychain and personal donation page that could be shared via email, text, or social media so family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers near or far could be part of the fun!
Over 200 people attended the event and we raised a significant amount of funds for the BelovED PTO that can be spent on enhancing our children’s education. So thank you to all those that participated and supported our scholars.
If you are interested in helping out with this event in 2019 as a committee member or even as a volunteer, we would love to have you join us. We will need help with sponsorships/donation opportunities from local businesses, event logistics and setup, media banners, photography, refreshments, entertainment, before and after checklists, additional event attractions, outreach to local area schools as well as their track and field teams, running groups, placement of color stations, DJ, teacher/classroom/scholar incentives for top donors, save the date, kickoff presentation, social media “pusher/promoter” using tools/techniques/flyers/promos/information provided by Color-A-Thon company, finalize school goal, choose goal thermometer (or other), seek out banner ad companies, find borrowed pop up tents and folding long tables, as well as any other miscellaneous items/suggestions that are brought to the table.
We cannot wait until next year’s event! It is guaranteed to be bigger and more colorful
